Despite freezing rain, snow, and even blizzard conditions we made it to the ferry in Port-aux-Basques on Sunday! What a beautiful province from start to finish… Well, all right, it was hard to see the finish because of all the blowing snow.
As advertised on their website: There’s off the beaten path, and then there’s this place. As we passed through Badger, Greg regaled us with this story:
We have crossed the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the virtual ferry and are now taking the Bras d’Or Lake Water Route from North Sydney to Whycocomagh in Cape Breton, NS. This is listed as a “water trail”, so we expect Rick to shine here with his kayak. The rest of us will stumble along on the shore of Great Bras d’Or (sounds like a good title for a song). See you next Tuesday!
