We left Ontario on Sunday night, after spending the last 45 days crossing the province. From strong, swollen rivers to little streams; vast lakes to tiny ponds; rocky, forested wilderness to lush, fertile farmland; tiny villages to great cities – The Great Trail took us through it all!
The Trail itself varied from dirt trail to paved road – yes, there are still some sections where you have to share the Trail with automobiles – and then long stretches of water trail along Lake Huron & Lake Superior. What an amazing route!
The next big geophysical challenge, crossing the Prairies, is about the same distance as crossing Ontario. As the weather improves, however, we are picking up speed in our virtual trek so should be able to cut the time down.
