This past week we followed the beautiful Parc Linéaire Le P’tit Train du Nord trail through the Laurentians.
This trail runs through the Laurentians from Blainville to Mont Laurier on the old railway line of the P’tit Train du Nord, built in the 1890’s. It offers spectacular scenery with lakes, rivers and mountains as well as lively tourist towns and cottage areas … Many of the old train stations have been converted into information centres, rest areas and cafes. We went off-trail to visit Acro-Nature at Sommet Morin Heights, testing our skill – and our nerve – on the ziplines, rope bridges and timber ladders! (There is no such thing as acrophobia in the virtual world.)
We started this week’s trek in Maniwaki, QC, still in the Laurentians, and expect to be in Ottawa by Thursday – perhaps in time for a Senators’ game. (Too bad about Montreal and Toronto, eh?)
